Your privacy

Cookie policy

What we keep in your browser, why, and for how long.

Analytics, only if you accept

With your OK, Google Analytics counts visits and shows us which recipes people read, so we know what to improve. It sets two cookies, _ga and _ga_ followed by an ID, which tell one browser from another and last up to 2 years. Until you accept, Google Analytics isn't loaded at all. We don't use advertising cookies.

Anonymous visit counts, without cookies

We also count page views with Vercel Web Analytics, our hosting provider's privacy-friendly tool. It sets no cookies and stores nothing on your device, and it can't recognize you across days or sites: it only tells us how many people opened each page, which site sent them, and their country and type of device. We send page addresses without anything you typed, like a search.

The one cookie the site needs

When you rate a recipe, we set db_voter, a random ID that keeps one rating per visitor and lets you change it later. It is set only if you rate, lasts 2 years and can't be read by scripts on the page. Nothing else is stored in it.

Things saved on your device

Your plate in the carb table, your place in cooking mode and your cookie choice are saved in your browser's storage. They stay on your device and are never sent to us. Clearing your browser data removes them.

Changing your mind

You can accept or reject analytics at any time with “Cookie settings” at the bottom of every page. If you reject them after accepting, we remove the analytics cookies. Rejecting changes nothing else on the site. We ask again after 12 months.
